The benefit of the benefit of the doubt.
by Jason Stone

This impressive commercial for Twix gives the audience the benefit of the doubt instead of spelling out what’s going on. The lack of explanation/obviousness demands our concentration in a way that’s very helpful to the advertising purpose of the film.

Giving credit to viewers has many benefits, not least the opportunity to inject the sense of the surreal into a commercial which could easily be pretty straightforward.
