Art you meant to be at home? | |

Museum and gallery patrons are always told not to touch the art. They are allowed to speak to them, though, if you believe this Tubi spot. When a woman tries to take a selfie with a painting, the latter is unimpressed. "What are you doing here?" she asks, forever on the verge of death thanks to the plague and the artist who painted her. If the woman in front of her had any sense, she would be at home with "hundreds of blockbusters and endless reality television" for free—instead, she gets coughed on by an indignant 2D object. Those still wary of respiratory droplets after the pandemic may want to give this particular gallery a miss. Dodgy hygiene, Adam Grint and the team at Untold Studios have done a lovely job with the painting—a mix of classical technique and modern resentment. The idea is that Tubi viewers prioritise pleasure over pressure to be 'cultured'.
