Parliamentary elections, Euro 2024, the Paris Olympics… France have a lot to think about at the moment. This St Pierre commercial from agency Fold7 and director Tim McNaughton gives them even more food for thought, as the brand promote brioche buns with the tagline "Eat Avec Respect".

Dave_from_Bolton did not get the memo, though, as he drowns a sausage in a brioche bun with ketchup (it's become an epidemic this summer). The French for bread is 'pain', but the patrons of a Parisian cafe feel the sore kind of pain when they learn what's happened.

Plates are thrown, fingers are wagged, and tables are flipped as the characters lose their collective shit. Even the woman in a painting comes to life through sheer anger and breaks a hoe over her knee. Though UK viewers are free to eat brioche however they like, some culinary diplomacy would go down well.
