This is an ode to the chronic holiday overpackers of Australia. Because the rule outlined in this creative spot is that when travelling by the Spirit of Tasmania ferry, if it fits in the car, it can come on the trip. From the dog, to a whole case of wine, a piñata, and a French horn. Pete Baker of the international directing collective Glue Society, charmingly turns all the holiday paraphernalia into characters in their own right. Objects are captured moving on their own (the ice sloshing about in an ‘esky’), and the few frames with humans in them have been cropped, so that we focus on things rather than faces. This gives the film a quirky edge, and fills it with life via the stuff we fill our lives with.
