Copa90 and Dead Films have borrowed a trick from Disney and Pixar, and cast an emotion as their main character. The latest branded film for Sky Sports puts hope front and centre, as the uniting factor for football fans of all kinds across England’s 92 different clubs. This is the hero film in the channel’s new campaign, launched ahead of the Premier League season starting next month. It features snippets of the stories of fans ranging in celebrity from across England, which are told in more depth in an accompanying array of shorter spots on social media. Those sharing their new season dreams for their clubs include actor Danny Dyer, creative director/director Priya Ahluwalia, musician Alex Greenwood, journalist/creative Felicia Pennant, claymation director Will Child, artist Sally Barton, and finally, fish cannery brand Sea Sisters. Hope is the only pleasant emotion that we complex beings optimise under unpleasant circumstances - a fact that will have rung true for all fans of the beautiful game at one time or another. Because in football as in life, there will always be losses amongst the wins, but there is also, always, hope.
