They think it's all over... and it will be soon.
by Jason Stone

You have to feel sorry for Sky during a major international football tournament. Their punters temporarily defect to the BBC and ITV, and, in all likelihood, so do many of their camera operators and other crew. No one can be more keenly waiting for the start of the domestic season than Sky's executives as they witness the rising interest in the most lucrative sport they cover... all on other stations because they are protected events.

Into this seething pit of envy and despair comes the first reminder that the Euros will all be over in a couple of weeks, and football fans will begin to eagerly await the season ahead... with a huge number of the fixtures broadcast by Sky Sports. The satellite broadcaster doesn't always get enough credit for its coverage of grassroots and lower league football. It genuinely does a brilliant job, and this celebration of the EFL is a reminder of how much that means to fans of those clubs.
