I bee-lieve in a thing called love.
by Andrew MacGregor

When a couple go for a romantic drive together, it helps if both are in the car at the same time. The two lovebirds in this Skoda commercial are in fact love bees, one of whom gets stuck in a Kodiaq. It must have clocked the picnic basket in the boot and thought it was for them.

The SUV sets off to the strains of 'For Once in My Life' by Stevie Wonder, with the other bee in hot pursuit. While it tries to find a way in, the reluctant passenger tries to find a way out. Anyone who’s tried to point an insect in the right direction knows this could take a while.

As separation anxiety grows, director Nicolai Fuglsig and the team at 1920 have even more fun with the concept. The bees press their legs against the sunroof together, before water droplets, air-conditioning, and bubble gum add further jeopardy. The family inside the car had been oblivious, until the bee lands on a boy's comic book.

Both he and Skoda know that it's wrong to kill bees, so he helps it escape the nightmare that is a Kodiaq. It's a different story for humans, though—for them, it's a spacious family car at one with nature (as much as a petrol/diesel car can be).
