Making fun of drink driving. | |

Over the years, the RSA in Ireland has, like a lot of entities promoting road safety opted to show the gruesome out comes of traffic accidents, as well as portraying the grim consequences of what might happen to those responsible. But. as this super film illustrates, drives don't' picture themselves causing violent accidents when they weigh up the drink that might put them over the limit. What they do envisage is the more prosaic consequences of losing their licence and this light-hearted imagining of life without being able to drive is absolutely on the money. Each of the vignettes is a beautifully weighted piece of absurdity which nonetheless brings home to the target market - largely young men - the humiliation they will endure if they are caught drink-driving.
