by Andrew MacGregor

Chris Pratt with a handlebar moustache looks just like the Pringles guy. That's the premise of this 30" Super Bowl ad, though Pratt is not convinced. Maybe the actor would rather people said he looked like Mario, but that will never, ever happen.

Instead, a photo of Pratt with a tube of Pringles Original goes viral on social media, with comments like "When you realise you like the Pringles guy" and "@prattprattpratt es identico al tio Pringles". That's when his agent offers him the role of a lifetime: Mr P himself.

Cut to Pratt in a horse-drawn carriage with his moustachioed son, back to when the Wild West of snacks was yet to be tamed. If you squint at the billboard movie poster, you see that it's pure Oscar bait from, er, Pringles Productions, Snacking Genius, and Hyperbolic Paraboloid—a nod to the crisp's distinctive shape.
