Queen’s anthem is given the Empress Megan treatment in a remake of a Pepsi Super Bowl ad from 20 years ago. Jake Scott directs a colossal collaboration between the brand and Paramount Studios, which sees Megan Thee Stallion and Travis Kelce sub in for Beyonce, Britney Spears and Pink to launch the 2024 NFL season, and promote Ridley Scott’s 'Gladiator II'.

The ad opens with actors Lamorne Morris and Jake Lacy hearing the iconic beat of ‘We Will Rock You’ reverberating from a Pepsi can, before they find themselves in the middle of a Roman stadium inside said can. NFL stars Travis Kelce, Josh Allen, Derrick Henry, and Justin Jefferson, trade helmets for shields as they enter the arena as gladiators, and fight for their survival and Megan Thee Stallion’s approval.

Pepsi’s 2024 rebrand may include digging back into the archives to refresh the classics, but when the results are as grand, as Kelce asks at the end, ‘are you not entertained?’.
