Stella performance.
by Andrew MacGregor

Wimbledon, in case you missed it, is back, and so is the Palace x Stella Artois range. Where better to launch some new threads than The Olde Apple Tree in Peckham (a nod perhaps to Stella Artois Cidre, god rest its soul), where staff and punters alike dress the part. The question is: do they play the part?

It's time to find out when a bloke opens a can of tennis balls like a can of the advertised lager. “Fancy a game?” he asks, like a man who always has an emergency racquet on his person. A yes is the answer, spoken with the kind of sage confidence you only get in a pub.

Palace's off-beat humour comes through loud and clear when play commences. "Palace, Artois, Palace, Artois, Palace, Artois…" may stick with you long after Wimbledon draws to a close.
