'Who's Watching?'
14 January 2024 80s
57 channels and everything on.
by Jason Stone

One of Netflix's greatest strengths is also one of its greatest weaknesses... the sheer range of choice available on the platform. Which of us, after all, hasn't spent hours scrolling through the myriad of content while our partner leans over our shoulder shouting 'hang on, go back to the Nazi Cowboy thing, I was reading that'?

In this entertaining commercial, DAVID's namesake agency in Madrid and director Juan Cabral turn that frown upside down by suggesting the only way of coping with the breadth of choice available on Netflix is through multiple personality disorder. After struggling to come to terms with her own eclectic taste, Norma – the protagonist – is advised to embrace all of her different selves, even the one that enjoys 'Emily in Paris'.

As is so often the way with Cabral's work, he hits an exquisitely idiosyncratic tone, while landing all of the laughs.
