After thirty years in charge of the National Lottery, Camelot have been replaced by Allwyn, who, along with agency VCCP, celebrate with a visit to the chip shop. It's not food that the brand want though… they aim to pick out the next winner from the crowd at dinner time.

How about Mo, the man who wants a chip butty? Or the bloke who only eats scampi in even numbers for some reason? Or Adele, who suspects that jar of pickled eggs on the counter has never been opened? None of them land the jackpot, as it turns out, but perhaps the winner will buy them dinner.

There's a reason why the ad is set in a chippy on a Saturday night: the brand want the weekend draw to feel special and buzzy again. However, lapsed players may wait to see if a mooted price cut goes ahead first.
