Keen to help fans move on from the crisis, the NFL have come up with a placeholder: a hype song that works all day and all night. To say this commercial from agency 72andSunny and director Tino is more than the sum of its parts would be an understatement. The 'nation' needs fans, professionals, amateurs, commentators, and more for it to work, so everyone nails it wherever and whoever they happen to be. The clear standouts, however, are the Lahainaluna High School football team. They lost homes and family members to the wildfires that ravaged Hawaii in August 2023, but they exude strength and unity in the middle of a scarred landscape. The ad is playful as well powerful, though. A lovely gag about Saquon Barkley's move from the New York Giants to the Philadelphia Eagles shows not even football country is safe from the risk of civil war.
