'Mamushi' by Megan Thee Stallion is a bi-lingual banger named after one of the most venomous snakes in Japan. The rapper is very much in her reptile phase —'Mamushi' follows 'Cobra', 'Hiss', and 'Boa'—but the new song also reinforces her love of Japan with lyrics like "Goin' dumb in Madam Woo, pourin' sake in they mouth". She wraps her tongue around a handful of Japanese words, but guest vocalist Yuki Chiba threatens to steal the show with his sawtooth delivery. Both Stallion and Chiba are on fine form, and so is promo director Onda. It's hard to take your eyes off the bathhouse that is part honey trap, part snake pit, and all trouble for those who granted entry. The closer you are to the screen, the more likely you are to get chomped by a rather naff CG snake. Just admire the set design and choreography from afar!
