'New Woman' by Lisa and Rosalía is the second bilingual track that DAVID's picked up over the last few days. First we had Megan Thee Stallion and Yuki Chiba sing in English and Japanese, now we have a busy to-and-fro between English and Spanish. Like 'Mamushi', the song has variety on its side. Lisa, who was a rockstar last time out, switches it up and tells everyone in earshot: "Here I go/Bangin' it, bangin' it, wanna crack these walls." Elsewhere, her partner in rhyme declares: “Not a single era will be a flop in my future/Bitch, I'm Rosalía." Brave is the person who tries to argue with her. If the song is an earful, then the promo is a real eyeful. A fashion film where heels are set on fire, a photocopier is used like a flip book, and the male gaze is probed, director Dave Meyers and his crew pack as many ideas as they can into 3'11". We reckon it was time well spent.
