Horror comes home.
by Andrew MacGregor

Ireland like Halloween as much as the next country, but they like it better when people acknowledge Samhain. For those not up on their Gaelic festivals, Samhain marks the end of the harvest season and the start of winter on November 1. Before darkness falls on the Emerald Isle, however, there's some frightful fun to be had.

What agency Publicis and director Leonn Ward have come up with is chock-full of pagan masks and rural dread. Shot for the most part in black-and-white, the ad suggests Ireland is the place to go for a more grounded, folksy experience. If it all proves too much on October 31, maybe a pint of Guinness will soothe those nerves.
