Box clever.
by Andrew MacGregor

"Whatever life has in store, there's a box for it." That's how IKEA view the world, at any rate, and so does Filip Nilsson of Object & Animal. The Swede directs this lively ad about storage, with enough boxes, baskets, and bins to please Marie Kondo herself. Cats would love to climb into this commercial, too.

The work reminds DAVID of 'Unpacking', a lo-fi puzzle game about how possessions slot into place wherever we go. Like developers Witch Beam, IKEA know the satisfaction of a job well done, and a pyramid of storage solutions suggests the brand are connoisseurs. A box-ticking exercise in the best possible way.
