'Mind's a Lie' by High Vis is borne out of frustration at a lack of resources, a lack of support for people who need it most ("Redemption so far beyond me/Paranoid, alone, and lonely"). Frontman Graham Sayle sings, "Do you wanna giz a chance to try?" like a man who already knows the answer. So does the protagonist of Martina Pastori’s music video. Played by Welsh movement director Sem Osian, the guy is a one-man petty crime wave who chucks bricks through windows and takes a piss wherever he pleases. Yet if that were all there was to him, this would be a rather dull promo. We come to regard him as a man in search of an outlet. The hunt sees him run across a field with his shirt off, shadow box his mate on the roof of a tower block, then fight for real in the gym. It reminds us of Spud's odyssey in 'T2: Trainspotting', and the band's colour palette suggests they like it.
