Boy from the black stuff. | |
by Andrew MacGregor | |
|
David Dencik ('Chernobyl', 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy') is not afraid to oil up. The Swede is covered head to toe in crude by Fund Your Mother, a group concerned over how much pension funds invest in oil and gas companies. Dencik plays an executive who bathes in the black stuff—a substance he thinks is the bee's flammable knees. "There are people who claim that oil might not be that good for the climate," he concedes, "but there are others who say the opposite. And you have to listen to both sides, right?" Half of you wants to set him on fire; the other half applauds his weapons-grade chutzpah. He also knows that people just want to dance at the end of the day, not worry about climate change, pollution, and all that nonsense. His moves are, erm, crude, to say the least—if you ever wanted to see a man hump a car door, now's your chance. Viewers can follow his example (and get banned from every car park in Sweden), or they can sign the advertised petition to defund oil and gas firms. Either way, it might be best to steer clear of the woods for a while.
