'Deli'
9 September 2024 30s
Food for thought.
by Andrew MacGregor

Whether he's in a studio or a delicatessen, ESPN's Stephen A Smith is always on. This 30" ad sees him lock horns with Bobby, a deli owner who thinks titles are won in the trenches, not through luxury quarterbacks. He puts his money where his mouth is through ESPN Bet, though Smith now has bigger fish to fry.

He's annoyed to learn that Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo—a rival sports pundit who often appears on ESPN's 'First Take' show—has a sandwich named after him. "He's a local legend!" says Bobby, causing Murray to take his lunchtime business elsewhere. One customer thinks he'll be back like a hungry Terminator, and we tend to agree with her.
