Dove's authenticity drive continues with a spot directed by Tomboy (Jesse Heath and Nikki Grattan) for Father's Day. Commercials at this time of year often focus on biological dads, but what about stepfathers, foster fathers, godfathers, brothers, coaches, friends, teachers, and more? The brand feel it's time to redress the balance.

First we hear from the guys who stepped in or stepped up for whatever reason. They talk about love, sacrifice, responsibility, and protection—all the stuff you want to hear dads wax lyrical about. With Heath and Grattan's encouragement, they start to rack up Dad Points left, right, and centre.

The heartstrings are pulled tighter when the kids appear on a screen in the background, so each father figure can hear whether their efforts have paid off or not (spoiler alert—they have). These are the bonds that Dove want to celebrate and nurture, but if viewers have a father figure who needs to freshen up, the brand have just the product range!
