DoorDash
'The Party'
23 January 2024 30s
Cake it and run.
by Andrew MacGregor

When a catapult ruins Norah's birthday cake (parents need to frisk party guests more often), it's up to Cici's bakery to make a new one and deliver it ASAP. This is where DoorDash come in, though the brand are keen to acknowledge everyone involved in the process.

As a souped-up version of 'Hold On, I'm Comin' by Sam & Dave sets the tone, nimble camerawork and blocky, bravura set design illustrate how an order comes together. 'Bake Off: The Professionals' is too stressful for DAVID, but Cici does her job with a smile on her face.

Director Henry Scholfield executes some excellent transition shots as he creates a fun piece of playfulness for the brand. If all DoorDash orders are this smooth, then Canadians have nothing to worry about.
