Chloe Qisha
'I Lied, I'm Sorry'
21 August 2024 2 mins 53s

Some folk piss and moan when the lift is broken, but not Chloe Qisha. The Malaysian-born, London-based singer could have told director Lillie Eiger where to stick her music video—instead, she takes the stairs with more gusto than ever before.

The result comes across as a non-violent remake of 'Dredd' or 'The Raid'. Like those two films, 'I Lied, I'm Sorry' is set in a block of flats, only Qisha dances her way upstairs—a far cry from what Judge Dredd and Rama both got up to in 2011.

Drones are used to great effect by DP/pilot Barney Clark, while Qisha matches the decor with red-and-white threads. She sings about "a fuck ton of tension" in a London house—well, a fuck ton of effort went into the visuals, too.
