Call Of Duty
'The Truth Lies'

Call my bluff.
by Andrew MacGregor

This 'Call of Duty' spot is like a fever dream caused by Gulf War Syndrome. That's because Bill Clinton, Margaret Thatcher, Saddam Hussein, George H Bush, and Colin Powell pull the strings in 'Black Ops 6'—the latest paranoid blockbuster from Activision, Treyarch, and Raven Software.

Through a blend of performance, prosthetics, and sly camerawork, we get a fractured chinwag between the Gulf War's key players. Shot in black-and-white to evoke 'Dr Strangelove' or 'The Manchurian Candidate', the film tells players that the truth lies (geddit?) in the dark.

Yet perhaps the most important character in this live-action teaser is the bloke who sits with his legs crossed and holds not one but two pistols. He's been absent from the last two 'Black Ops' covers, so who knows—political pressure from beyond the grave might have done the trick!

Side note: what are the odds on Thatcher being a playable character in the multiplayer?
