Aries x Umbro
'Pagans'
12 June 2024 45s
Heathen chemistry.
by Andrew MacGregor

This tie-up between streetwear brand Aries and venerable kit manufacturers Umbro reminds DAVID of the scene in 'The World's End' where England turns Anglo-Saxon. The cast all support the Three Lions, but one supporter wears a sheep's head throughout. Not a real one, though—that would be commercial suicide.

An acid blowout in the middle of the woods then evokes the work of Ben Wheatley—not what you'd expect days before Euro 2024. Rich in both atmosphere and toilet humour (we love how talk of rituals and primal behaviour is interrupted by the sound of a urinal), the ad draws attention to a new range inspired by myths and legends.
