'Cook Up a Storm'

by Andrew MacGregor

Ruth Bratt and Charlie Cooper return to voice Connie and Trevor in this Argos commercial. It's Trevor's turn to cook, tyrannosaurus rex arms be damned, so he slices and dices to the strains of ‘Battle Without Honor or Humanity’ by Tomoyasu Hotei. He may not wield a Hattori Hanzō sword like The Bride, but he does have the best knives in the catalogue.

We also see a Habitat saucepan, a Smeg cooker, and a Ninja food processor to strengthen the brand's offer, while director duo Aircastle and the team at Electric Theatre Collective serve up more top-drawer animation. The meal itself may not be haute cuisine, but at least it's, erm, hot. What more could a sentient doll ask for?
