The Stepford Files
by Jason Stone

In this striking commercial which advertises the news that Australians will be able to watch the upcoming T20 World Cup on Amazon Prime, cricketer Usman Khawaja wanders the suburban streets noticing some pretty strange occurrences… so strange that he may be living in Stepford.

Director Ariel Martin has amped up the weirdness and both agency and client deserve credit for backing this approach and ensuring that it gets noticed instead of bottling it in favour of a less provocative approach.

Khawaja plays his part well and, given he doesn’t appear to be part of Australia’s plans for this tournament, could start planning a future as an actor.
