Those who always wanted a country version of Bowling for Soup's 'Girl All the Bad Guys Want' are in luck. Zach Bryan, a high-profile thorn in Ticketmaster's side, sings about an Oklahoma smokeshow – a woman who drives the local troublemaker wild ("He'd take you home, but he's too drunk to drive"). The narrator knows she can do better, but also fears she will never leave "that small town bar scene/Where small vices kill your big dreams". Whoever this suitor is, they know that the great escape from this backwater burg doesn't include her. This love triangle's brought to life by director Matthew Dillon Cohen, who, aware that nice guys finish last, is determined to make it a tight race at least. He and editor Dylan Edwards nail how priorities and loyalties shift as emotions run high under the desert sun.
