'The Power of Friendship'
5 November 2023 2 mins 34s
Back to the future.
by Jason Stone

This isn't the first time that a piece of content has been made to look as though it's been found on a 1980s VHS cassette, but it may well be the best iteration of this idea. Such is the authenticity, that you can't stop watching the beautifully constructed depiction of 'old school' bullying which occupies the first minute-and-a-half of this film.

Having secured our attention, the commercial moves into the business end of things without leaving the 1980s. A German-accented spokesperson highlights the assets of the advertised bike, and, although it still feels as though we are in the sphere of irony, he means everything he says. Absolutely bonkers, and absolutely marvellous.
