The Waitrose Christmas ad features one of our favourite lines of the season so far: "It's OK, everyone—there's more cheese." Not only is it a great response to a power cut, it sounds like a piece of evidence at the Covid inquiry.

As well as dialogue worthy of a Downing Street party, Saatchi & Saatchi's first Christmas ad for Posh Supermarket features a Florentine-inspired panettone good enough to distract police community support officers from the noise. Case closed, as far as these two are concerned.

It's a busy night, that’s for sure—so much so that Graham Norton almost gets lost in the melee. He's happy to play second fiddle to a golden bûche de Noël ("This one has caramel shards!"), and viewers are encouraged to get swept up in the hype as well.
