While we're constantly bombarded with ominous statistics around climate change, it can be hard for most of us to visualise what they actually mean. We're all aware that a given vehicle dumps a given amount of CO2 into the atmosphere, but we lack the context to understand what that equates to in real world terms. This great film for Swedish transport association Västtrafik addresses that gap in understanding, using visually arresting VFX to put emissions into layman's terms. A towering stack of cars is compared to a single bus, highlighting the difference that public transport makes to our impact on the environment. It's a neat way to translate something the audience knows in the abstract into a tangible example, giving the film far more punch than simply quoting further numbers would. This illustrates the dire state of pollution in a way which could actually permeate public consciousness and affect changes in behaviour - something increasingly tricky to achieve as viewers become numb to doom and gloom overload.
