This Virgin Media commercial feels like 'Toy Story 4.5', courtesy of an all-plastic cast and multiple points of articulation. Yet most of the action figures seen here aren’t cowboys, space rangers, or fashion dolls—they're, erm, data analysts, financial advisors, and HR consultants, to name but a few. Only the most pragmatic child would stick these on a Christmas list.

But when the toys realise how much entertainment is available via the advertised telecom company (cat videos, extreme sports, Love Island, etc.), they turn into proper action figures. Even Risk Assessor ditches the clipboard for one night and enjoys a telephone cord bungee jump—just the kind of gear shift Virgin Media want customers to experience when they sign up.
