The Brick
'Little Christmas Ad'
23 November 2023 2 mins 18s
A little goes a long way.
by Andrew MacGregor

Brick by Brick (not to be confused with the development company that helped sink Croydon council) is a project run by The Brick, a Wigan-based charity with their own "little Christmas ad". What they lack in star power and visual effects, they make up for in staff and volunteers who want to make a difference.

Introduced by chief executive officer Keely Dalfen, the ad offers an insight into Brick by Brick's "distribution revolution"—everyday items procured from local businesses that are passed on to families in need. This is Santa's workshop in the cost of living crisis.

You can see how invested the cast are in the project, as well as the toll it takes. A tearful Dalfen says: "I do take it home because I just want to see children thrive." This may be a little Christmas ad, but it's a big deal for those on the frontline of poverty.
