At risk of drowning in a sea of bad publicity and raw sewage, Thames Water aim to turn the tide with this 30" commercial from agency VCCP and director Zak Razvi. The ad takes place at night, when a small army of engineers head out to fix leaks and make London’s Victorian pipework "fit for the twenty-first century". The result is a low-key, well-shot tribute to those who work from dusk until dawn, lit by hazard lights and portable devices. Whether residents are asleep, awake, or somewhere inbetween, the water company’s vans are always on the move. Day follows night, of course, and that's when fines are handed out and protesters pour fake sewage outside the head office. The brand must wish they could operate under cover of darkness at all times.
