Temptations
'Cats Lose Their Cool'
17 March 2023 63s
It's all in the eyes.
by Andrew MacGregor

There are cool cats and there are too cool cats—these bite-sized Temptations ads feature the latter. If cat owners need to bring their haughty moggies down a peg or two, they should buy as many treats from the advertised brand as possible. To borrow a phrase from Mike Skinner (aka The Streets): "Once bitten, forever smitten".

This is illustrated by four cats who act like a fashion diva, a sullen teenager, an artist's muse, and a food critic respectively. The art direction in each vignette is spot-on—the teenage cat's bedroom, covered in stickers and posters, is a highlight—while it's hard not to feel sorry for the humans shunned at every turn.

That's where Temptations come in, as their products apparently transform pets into wide-eyed softies. Some owners may insist those CG-enhanced peepers aren’t far off reality.
