'Super, thanks. You?'
17 January 2023 1 min 33s
Monday post-mortem.
by Andrew MacGregor

Inspired by Brian Bilston's 2020 poem, 'New Year Office Chit-chat', this dark comedy from Liam Wilson and Simon Allen opens on Brian (James Bradshaw), a man with a serious case of the Mondays. When a colleague (Ellie Duckles) asks how his weekend went, viewers get a grisly glimpse into Brian's home life.

Like a left-field ad for carpet cleaner, the film revels in Brian's desperate attempts to clean up the blood, dispose of the body, and burn the evidence… all while on the phone to his mum who's got world capitals on the brain ("Everyone thinks it's Sydney, but it's Canberra"). Next weekend may involve a patio à la Brookside.
