Katie Lambert and Martha McGuirk (MrMr) direct this likeable short film about heartache and stomach ache. Both happen to Charlotte (Shannon Woodward), a bowling alley employee who's just split up with her husband. At a loose end, she accepts her boss's challenge to eat a bunch of flowers in under a minute. This opens an unusual set of floodgates for Charlie, as she devours anything that's put in front of her for money or a commemorative T-shirt. Her mum thinks embroidery is a great distraction—Charlie thinks the fifty-second annual Nashville Pie Eating Contest is her best chance to move on. Just as the answers to life's problems are never found at the bottom of a bottle, they're never found at the bottom of foil pie dishes. After some 'lovely' gross-out footage of Charlie and her fellow competitors, Lambert and McGuirk show how time is the true healer. Setting your wedding dress on fire also helps.
