Hearing problems increase with age regardless of your chosen profession, but spending a lifetime in front of amplifiers and screaming crowds can't help the deterioration. That's the thrust of this quirky commercial for Sennheiser, which taps Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider as spokesman for their latest model of high-tech hearing aids. The film sees the singer and a friend out to dinner, with the pair struggling to carry out a conversation amidst the background noise of a busy restaurant. Switching to heavy metal singing is the only way to make themselves understood... much to the chagrin of their fellow diners. Luckily, Snider's harried assistant quickly turns up with his new hearing aids, allowing the ageing rocker to filter out the noise and chat at a normal level. It's a humorous and relatable way to encourage an older demographic to sort out their hearing issues - promising that they're no less cool just because some of the wear and tear of age is starting to show.
