Renault declare it the 'most wonderful time of the year' for tennis fans in this unexpectedly festive commercial. The brand tap a familiar Christmas track in order to celebrate the 2023 French Open, which takes place from the 22nd of May to the 11th of June.
The film sees cities all over the world become covered with red powder - a summery sort of snow which mimics the instantly recognisable dust kicked up by clay court play. Professional players and civilians alike demonstrate their passion for the sport throughout the spot, as they rush to create courts wherever they can string a net.
A particularly fun interlude takes us inside a building, briefly switching to black and white security camera footage as a pair of potential players bend the law in the name of a good game location. This is polished work from Nico Perez Veiga, and offers a fresh visual take on the annually anticipated tournament.
