Singer, songwriter, and producer Renao knows all about pressure. Born in Bangalore, India, Rahul Prasad moved to the UK to study music at Leeds University. With his long-term future in the country at stake, he threw everything into Soundcloud, Instagram, TikTok, etc. These experiences shape the promo for new single 'Lifeline'. Directed by Relta, the film sees Renao explore a hotel whose floors are linked to his past. He walks past a young badminton player (in a parallel universe, the artist is an Olympic champion), the maker of his favourite Indian sweet, and a DJ at the start of his career. The eight floor, however, is an unwelcome trip down memory lane. Two men pin Renao against the window and confiscate his passport—a painful reminder of life under constant threat of deportation. He may have come out the other side, but he and Relta knows that others are not so lucky.
