Gain After Pain

Following years of serious image problems partially stemming from a hilariously viral commercial misstep, Peloton attempt to ditch their bougie vibes with a brand overhaul. This commercial focuses on their fitness app, which promises personal support for a variety of sports, yoga, and meditation. It's also, quite significantly, free.

Because, after all, who's spending thousands of pounds on one of the brand's luxury exercise bikes in this day and age? The dynamic film takes a more realistic look at where the majority of people are with their personal fitness in 2023 - working out at home, public places, or the gym they guiltily scrape together the membership for.

Down to earth yet dynamic visuals from director JONES make the sweaty, panting, undignified prospect of exercise feel attainable to even viewers permanently glued to their sofas, while moments of quiet meditation amidst the noise add a new string to the brand's bow. Will Peloton ever shake their image of unnecessary luxury? It remains to be seen, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.
