A pair of neighbours join the fight against food waste in this great commercial for Oddbox. The brand send their subscribers a periodic grab bag of aesthetically unappealing produce which would otherwise be left off supermarket shelves, proving that the 'eat with our eyes' adage is a luxury few can afford these days. The duo meet when collecting their boxes at the front door, as one heads off to work and the other has a momentary break from his role as a stay at home dad. Their joy at unboxing their fruit and veg delivery is well captured, as they playfully interact with the unusual looking groceries. Director Marysue Masson demonstrates her gift for comedy, walking the line between sincerity and good-natured parody as one neighbour holds a potato aloft with tears in his eyes at the humble spud's brilliance. This is bound to entice more customers to give the subscription service a look, as it makes saving the planet (and our wallets) look fun.
