Many fear a trip into the uncanny valley, but not Nike. The brand de-age a host of Chinese athletes in this Lunar New Year commercial, whether viewers are ready for deepfake sports stars or not. Among the players dunked in a digital Lazarus Pit are two-time Grand Slam champion Li Na, footballer Wang Shuang, and basketballer Yi Jianlian, once accused of de-aging himself in the old-fashioned way. Stuck at the kids' table, each cast member imagines what their future selves are capable of. Classic, mixed-media Nike pyrotechnics follow as the competitors come into their own, with budding athletes urged to use the Year of the Rabbit as a launch pad. The most successful may themselves be de-aged at a later date!
