The power of destruction.
by Jason Stone

There are those who will tell you with a certain amount of glee that it isn't possible to make commercials like this any more. Their wistful nostalgia for a bygone era when regulation was something achieved with a constipation remedy tends to include the idea that a script like this would provoke too many objections for it to see the light of day. So what better proof that this is a nonsensical perspective than this marvellous Scandinavian ad for Net on Net.

The cardboard robot entering the scene to save the day wreaks complete havoc... not so much Robocop as Bozocop, The idea that he has saved the security guard in the museum a tiny amount of money while also causing thousands of pounds worth of damage, including the destruction of priceless artefacts is a perfect piece of comedy, and director Torben Kjelstrup has brought it home in just 25 seconds.

So, there you go, industry grumps... It is still possible to make funny commercials, and make them bloody well.
