"The metaverse may be virtual, but the impact will be real." The clinical narrator of this 30" commercial is correct in the worst possible way, as Meta lay off another ten thousand employees on top of the eleven thousand job cuts announced last year. Less things can only get better and more things can only get Meta.
Naturally, the brand want us to think long-term and consider the benefits of augmented/virtual reality to education, medicine, and emergency services. Each CG-enhanced vignette offers a neat what-if scenario, but it's hard to get too excited when so many employees face a grim reality.
