McDonald's push an elevated platform in this new commercial for their Steakhouse Stack burger. Promised to be "McDonald's, and then some," the item offers more grown-up ingredients than the brand's usual fare - signalling a cheeky step towards the territory of slightly higher-end burger chains as wallets suffer around the country. The ad enhances that suggestion, as director Joy Kilpatrick features characters making a point to spend quality time with their new fast food item of choice (date nights included). Other hints towards a more indulgent experience include taking the time to place one's burger on a china plate, with a darkened colour palette further signalling that this is the connoisseur's Maccas order.
