Buck the trend. | |

Chef and Great British Menu judge Tom Kerridge has poultry on the brain in this timely Marks & Spencer ad. He visits Simon Darch's farm in Somerset, where chickens have more space, perches, bales, and natural light than other birds in the supermarket food chain. They also get to listen to Fleetwood Mac's 'Albatross' as much as they like. The film arrives just as Morrisons face allegations of animal cruelty at one of their abattoirs. This will no doubt lead to greater scrutiny of supermarkets and how they treat pigs, cows, fish, sheep, and—you guessed it—chickens. Marks & Spencer put their faith in farmers like Darch, which gets the approval of both Kerridge and the RSPCA.
