This ad for Thai bank Krungsri uses a lot of numbers, but none have anything to do with current accounts, interest rates, etc. The narrator says, "If you ask people from the past, they will say there are two genders, three races, and five religions." Today, goes the script, there are eighty-one genders, a hundred and ten races, and four thousand two hundred religions.

If viewers thought more genders, races, and religions would follow in the years to come, they are wrong. The bank reckon labels will become obsolete as the next generation comes to pass.

One can't help but chuckle when, after two minutes of lofty chat about freedom and a world without races, languages, and nations, the catalyst for change is revealed to be a Visa Platinum card. "Empowering you to build a free world” is a lot of pressure to heap on some blue plastic.
