Drawstring theory. | |

The JD Sports bag is important enough to have its own section on the corporate website. It says: "Our JD drawstring bag is classified as a 'bag for life', but we still apply the carrier bag levy fee to this bag, with all proceeds going to The JD Foundation." Good to clear that up before we dive into the brand's Christmas ad! In case you hadn't already guessed, agency Uncommon and director Amara Abbas put said bag front and centre. Sure, the likes of Kano, Joy Crookes, Nia Archives, and Central Cee come along for the ride, but it's the yellow-and-black number that carries the spot from start to finish. With a "my drawstring bag will see me through" attitude, cast members fling it over their shoulders, bite down on it, use it as an umbrella, stick leftovers in it, and more besides. Some put it through the ringer on cold and snowy streets, others treat it with care, but everyone shares a tactile affection for the brand. No wonder 'Sweet Harmony' by Liquid plays in the background.
